Attorneys Jack Facey and John Newman Presented at the VBA Annual Meeting
Attorneys Jack Facey and John Newman both presented at the annual VBA meeting in Fairlee, Vermont.
Mr. Facey’s presentation was on current events and trends in Vermont real estate, including changes in Vermont’s title standards. He is the chair of the Association’s Committee on Title Standards.
Mr. Newman presented a 2-hour colloquium on the benefits of mindfulness meditation in law practice. This was a shorter version of the day-long program that he and Attorney Patton Hyman presented for Vermont lawyer CLE credit at the Karme Choling Meditation Center in Barnet, Vermont. Mr. Hyman has now come out with a book on the topic, entitled The Inner Advantage: Applying Mindfulness in Business and Law. This book formed the basis of Mr. Newman's presentation.
